Allen: VMWare is a pretty neat piece of free software, mainly because it led to this:



The virtual machine was so virtual that I had a hard time transfering a mouse driver to the DOS box. I eventually tracked down an open-source program that creates ISO images from files on your hard drive and mounted it as a CD so the DOS box could see it. TOTALLY WORTH IT.

Allen: They've done it and finally released Command & Conquer: The First Decade, a collection of all 12 C&C games that will work on Windows XP. I'll finally be able to fire ion cannons and put up obelisks in the middle of the other guy's base again!

Allen: LIVERMORE, California (AP) -- Officials at the Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory have added a new weapon to their armory: a high-powered machine gun that can fire more than 50 rounds per second.

From the article: "... they simultaneously fire 7.62mm bullets from six barrels at up to 4,000 rounds per minute, powerful enough to take down an enemy aircraft or helicopter, officials said."
